Welcome to FidoFit!
Based in Dorchester, Dorset, FidoFit offers a range of professionally tailored pet care services, including dog walking and canicross training, horse care, and additional pet care for your other furry friends.
Established in 2019, and inspired by Scooby, my wonderful working cocker spaniel, I started FidoFit during Covid, because I wanted to create a unique dog walking and fitness training experience that helped to support and improve the physical needs and mental well being of both dogs and their owners.
Since then FidoFit has grown to incorporate 'Friends of Fido' which also addresses the needs of your other pets too, including horses, so no-one misses out! Qualified and insured for your peace of mind, whether you’re looking for a dog walker to work around your busy schedule, a personal trainer to boost your dog's fitness and activity levels (and maybe even your own!), or someone to drop in for a home visit and attend to your other pets too, you can feel safe in the knowledge that your beloved pets are in safe hands. I'll do my best to create a tailored plan that works best for you.
A Little Bit About Me
With a lifetime's experience of dogs, horses and everything in between, I'm never happier than when I'm out on muddy walks or riding out in the wonderful Dorset countryside. I grew up with all sorts of creatures great and small by my side, from wonderful rottweilers to pocket-sized yorkies; grandoise hanovarians to naughty welsh mountains; and cuddly chinchillas to inquisitive gerbils!
I sat on a horse before I could walk and have been riding ever since. Pony club, gymkhanas, show jumping and one day events occupied life and every weekend and holiday, until my university years and thereafter I travelled, riding whenever I had the opportunity. From working on a yard in New Zealand to wrangling on a ranch in Arizona, I rode most of my way around the world! Since my return, I've had horse shares, and helped clients out with their own horses, and I now have a wonderful Irish Draft that I share with my mum.
In addition to my many years of experience, I hold BHS, first aid, dog walking and animal care qualifications; and I am also a qualified personal trainer and canicross trainer. For added peace of mind, I'm fully insured and DBS checked.
I've been very lucky to have never known a life without wonderful pets! They're my happy place and having spent so much time with them, they've always been intrinsically linked to my own personal fitness and mental well being; and it's for this reason I started my business.
